Our finding is supported by a study reporting that Tac1 knockout in mice led to reduced anxiety-like and depression-like behaviours.41 In addition, antagonists of the tachykinin receptor, called TACR1, have been investigated in clinical trials for depression with mixed results.42 Research of TACR1 antagonists is still under investigation for antidepressant potential. This evidence concerns the gene TACR1 and depressive symptom measurement.
