Recent findings demonstrated DDIT4 involvement:28DDIT4 was activated in the PFC of rats in response to stress, viral-mediated upregulation of DDIT4 in the PFC of rats induced depressive-like and anxiety-like behaviours, and the analysis of different post-mortem MDD samples showed an upregulation of DDIT4 in the PFC of MDD individuals. This evidence concerns the gene DDIT4 and major depressive disorder.
