Under all of the four genetic models, there was no significant association between IL-6–174G/C polymorphism and sepsis risk for overall analysis (for C vs. G: OR = 1.01, 95%CI 0.93–1.09, P = 0.82; for CC vs. GG: OR = 1.04, 95%CI 0.87–1.25, P = 0.68; for CC vs. GC/GG: OR = 1.04, 95%CI 0.88–1.23, P = 0.64; for CC/GC vs. GG: OR = 1.02, 95%CI 0.85–1.23, P = 0.81;)(Table 2).
