Whilst numerous studies have identifiedpredictors of persistent anaemia [15–18] and the most common include race, gender, CD4 cell count less than 200 cells/mm3, HIV viral load, MCV, presence of opportunistic infections, zidovudine use and WHO clinical staging, there is scanty information in the literature on predictors of recovery from anaemia, more-soreinlimited-resource settings. Here, CD4 is linked to anemia.
