As shown in Table 5, HCC was associated with older age (p < 0.0001), PNPLA3 genotype GG (p = 0.0200), higher AST levels (p = 0.0158), lower albumin levels (p < 0.0001), higher total bilirubin levels (p = 0.0010), lower platelet counts (p < 0.0001), lower prothrombin times (p < 0.0001), higher hyaluronic acid levels (p < 0.0001), higher AFP levels (p = 0.0009), higher PIVKA-II levels (p = 0.0030), and higher Vs values (p < 0.0001). This evidence concerns the gene AFP and hepatocellular carcinoma.
