Multivariate analysis showed that older age (OR = 1.06; 95% CI: 1.03–1.09; p = 0.0001), higher BMI (OR = 1.11; 95% CI: 1.00–1.24; p = 0.0576), and PNPLA3 genotype GG (OR = 2.07; 95% CI: 0.94–4.55; p = 0.0712) were factors independently associated with progression to cirrhosis (data not shown).
