The Sox2/GFAP double-labeling in these cases was consistent with the previous cases, ie in the brain adjacent to the tumor there were many cells with nuclear Sox2 immunopositivity which lacked cytoplasmic GFAP immunoreactivity, in addition to other cells which were double-labeled and a third population of cells which had only GFAP without nuclear Sox2 immunoreactivity. This evidence concerns the gene SOX2 and neoplasm.
