In addition, cell adhesion to type I collagen (Fig. 8C), which is the main component of lung extracellular matrix [32], and colony formation of cancer cell in agarose gels (Fig. 8D) were also significantly increased in IL-1β-treated B16F10 cells (F = 11.251 and 9.328 respectively, P < 0.05) as compared with the control cells, suggesting that IL-1β can directly enhance metastatic ability of melanoma in the severe inflammatory condition. This evidence concerns the gene IL1B and melanoma.
