Elevated expression of innate immune-related genes, including Janus kinase (JAK)-STAT pathway, sensing of microbial patterns by Toll-like receptors, and IFN signaling was also observed in active tuberculosis and suggested a high degree of accuracy in discriminating tuberculosis patients and latently infected donors and that expression of these genes correlated with susceptibility and resistance to tuberculosis (8). Here, SOAT1 is linked to tuberculosis.
