Various NSCLC subtypes are associated with potentially targetable biomarkers such as mutation of the epidermal growth factor receptors (EGFR) (18–22), KRAS (23), or the presence of echinoderm microtubule-associated protein-like 4 (EML-4) and anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) fusion genes, ALK rearrangements (13, 15). Here, EGFR is linked to non-small cell lung carcinoma.
