In Chr 6q21–22, SNPs near AIM1–ATG5 are associated with stroke (P = 9.2 × 10-6) and plasma VLDL concentration (P = 4.7× 10-7), those near DCBLD1 are associated with carotid artery disease (P = 7.4 × 10-8), and a SNP in SLC35F1 is associated with heart rate (P = 4.0 × 10-10). This evidence concerns the gene ATG5 and stroke disorder.
