The invariable development of drug resistance presents a critical challenge to thesuccess of targeted cancer therapies (Jänne etal., 2005; O'Hare et al.,2006; Poulikakos and Rosen, 2011).Several mechanisms leading to such acquired resistance have been identified in patientswith EGFR-mutant non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) treated with smallmolecule EGFR inhibitors such as erlotinib.
