We found that the levels of Tim-3-PD-1+, Tim-3+PD-1−, and Tim-3+PD-1+ expression on T cells were all significantly higher in patients with severe infections (CD4+ T cells < 350 cells/μL, or VL > 20,000 copies/mL) than in patients whose infections were less severe (CD4+ T cells > 350 cells/μL, or VL < 20,000 copies/mL) (P < 0.05, except for CD8+Tim-3-PD-1+ T cells, Figure 1(c)). Here, CD8A is linked to infection.
