These results suggested that hippocampal Ad-SIRT2-GFP microinjection prevented the CUS-induced immobility time prolongation in the forced swimming test, sucrose preference reduction in the sucrose preference test and indices of anxiety decrease in the elevated plus maze; this indicated that SIRT2 was involved in CUS-induced depression behavior and SIRT2 overexpression in the hippocampus produces an antidepressant-like effect.
