An increased expression of mdig had also been found in colon cancer [8], esophageal squamous cell carcinoma [9], gingival squamous cell carcinoma [10], lymphoma [11], renal cell carcinoma [12], neuroblastoma [13], gastric cancer [14], hepatocellular carcinoma [15], cholangiocarcinoma [16], and breast cancer [17], indicating a potential oncogenic role of this gene. This evidence concerns the gene RIOX2 and breast cancer.
