The chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan 4 (CSPG4), also known as the high molecular weight melanoma-associated antigen (HMW-MAA) or the melanoma-associated chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan (MCSP) is a glycoprotein–proteoglycan complex expressed on the surface of melanoma, glioma, neuroblastoma, certain breast carcinomas, and acute leukemias (102). The gene discussed is CSPG4; the disease is melanoma.
