Notably, following the integration of HR-HPV into the genome of the host cell, NF-κB appears to go on to have an important role in the development of ICC, since this transcription factor was detected in nucleus and cytoplasm of 96.4% of HPV-positive tumor samples and in only 52.9% of HPV-negative tumor samples. Here, NFKB1 is linked to intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma.
