We found that bortezomib treatment in EAU mice could suppress not only TNF-α but also many other inflammatory mediators such as IL-1α, IL-1β, IL-12, IL-17, and MCP-1 in retinas so the autoimmune uveitis could be more effectively suppressed with bortezomib than with TNF-α antagonist etanercept (Figure 1(f)). The gene discussed is IL1B; the disease is autoimmune uveitis.
