WW domain-containing oxidoreductase (WWOX) is a tumor suppressor gene that is reportedly absent in several cancers, including those of breast, prostate, and ovary (Lewandowska et al., 2009; Salah, Aqeilan & Huebner, 2010), and has been associated with cancer progression in Wwox conditional knockout (KO) mice (Yang & Zhang, 2008; Gardenswartz & Aqeilan, 2014; Li et al., 2014). This evidence concerns the gene WWOX and cancer.
