Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is a clonal hematopoietic stem cell disorder in which leukemic cells display a reciprocal t(9:22) chromosomal translocation that results in the formation of the chimeric BCR-ABL oncoprotein, with a constitutive tyrosine kinase activity [1,2]. This evidence concerns the gene BCR and chronic myelogenous leukemia, BCR-ABL1 positive.
