Despite its proposed role for the lysosomal degradation of α-syn, Htt, the myocyte-specific enhancer factor-2D (MEF2D) and glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) in lysosomes via CMA, steady-state levels of these proteins were unchanged in LAMP-2-deficient brain tissue and in neuroblastoma cells where LAMP-2 was stably down-regulated.
