The lead type 2 diabetes-associated SNP, rs7756992, was still associated with CDKAL1-v1 levels when taking into account rs9366357, although the effect size was reduced and far smaller than the effect of rs9366357 (β = −0.34, p = 0.01) (Fig. 1, Table 1).
