The activation of oncogenes (EGFR, CCDN1, MYC, PIK3CA, RAS) and an abrogated pathway in tumour suppressors (TP53, TP73, RB, CDKN2A, CDKN1A) could be widely demonstrated in HNSCC [20–28]. This evidence concerns the gene TP53 and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
