In a renal cell carcinoma study, miR-141 served as a potential biomarker for discriminating ccRCC from normal tissues and a crucial suppressor of ccRCC cell proliferation and metastasis by modulating the EphA2/p-FAK/p-AKT/MMPs signaling cascade.19 Apart from miR-141 downregulated in a large variety of human tumors, it is upregulated in the other types of human tumors. The gene discussed is AKT1; the disease is nonpapillary renal cell carcinoma.
