TIAM1 and renal cell carcinoma: MiR-141 was identified to be downregulated in many cancers, including ovarian cancer,16, 17 hepatocellular carcinoma,18 renal cell carcinoma,19 colorectal cancer and pancreatic cancer.20, 21 MiR-141 is one member of the miR-200 family, a family that has been associated with the formation of cancer stem cells and regulation of the EMT.20, 37, 38 Liu et al.18 showed that miR-141 functioned as a tumor suppressor and inhibits the migration and invasion of HCC cells by targeting Tiam1.
