To functionally assess the role of SoxE factors in melanomagenesis, we first performed immunohistochemical staining for Sox9 and Sox10 of giant congenital naevi formed in Tyr::NrasQ61K mice and in melanoma derived from giant congenital naevi in Tyr::NrasQ61KInk4a−/− mice [9,48]. This evidence concerns the gene SOX9 and melanoma.
