One example of such a rare variant is the transcription factor homeobox 13 (HOXB13) mutation G84E (rs138213197; chromosome 17; build 37 position 46,805,705), which has been associated with a high risk of prostate cancer and replicated in at least ten case-control studies [17–30], with a recent meta-analysis odds ratio (OR) of 4.51 [22].
