Our findings indicate that the interaction between PSCs and PCCs plays a critical role in pancreatic cancer chemoresistance, and blocking the PSC-PCC interaction by inhibiting the SDF-1α/CXCR4 axis and its downstream signaling pathways may be a promising therapeutic strategy for overcoming chemoresistance in pancreatic cancer. This evidence concerns the gene CXCL12 and familial pancreatic carcinoma.
