USP2a (also known as USP2) has been implicated in prostate cancer through its deubiquitination and stabilization of fatty acid synthase (Graner et al. 2004) and more recently Hdm2 (Stevenson et al. 2007) as well as its closely related functional homolog HdmX (Allende-Vega et al. 2010).
