In a published multivariate prognostic model for gliomas, based on quantitative gene expression data, we have shown that the EGFR expression level lacked prognostic value in an astrocytic glioma set comprised of 100 glioblastoma multiformes (GBMs) and 49 anaplastic astrocytomas (AAs), but had a favorable effect on overall survival (OS) of patients with oligodendroglial tumors (OTs, n=45) [28]. This evidence concerns the gene EGFR and Aarskog-Scott syndrome, X-linked.
