Studies from our group have also shown that treatment with liraglutide, a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) analogue, improved not only glycemic control, but also obesity, possibly through affecting eating behavior (especially “sense of hunger” and “eating style”) in Japanese type 2 diabetic patients, using the radar chart [20,21]. The gene discussed is GCG; the disease is obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
