Previous studies have shown that ZBP1 is able to mediate directional motility of cells and to repress the invasion of breast cancer cells through regulating the localized expression of many adhesion- and motility-related mRNAs, including β-actin, Arp-16 and α-actinin mRNAs (Shestakova et al., 2001; Condeelis and Singer, 2005; Jønson et al., 2007; Gu et al., 2012). The gene discussed is ZBP1; the disease is breast carcinoma.
