As the purpose of our investigation was to identify and characterize the qualitative role of Pin1 on the Rta lytic switch and on lytic reactivation, further studies addressing such questions will develop Pin1’s lytic cycle-based molecular mechanisms as well as the broader phenotypic and tumorigenic ramifications of these, and other, activities at multiple stages of the KSHV life cycle, including in de novo infection and egress. This evidence concerns the gene PIN1 and infection.
