Positive PKM2 expression was found in 77 of the 236 (32.6%) primary HCC samples and none of the adjacent non-tumor tissues (P < 0.001), whereas positive TRIM35 expression was found in 159 of the 236 (67.4%) primary HCC samples and all of the adjacent non-tumor tissues (P < 0.001), indicating that increased PKM2 expression and decreased TRIM35 expression are frequent events in HCC. This evidence concerns the gene PKM and hepatocellular carcinoma.
