Notably, whereas in subject R880F the initially-immunodominant Gag 85–95 response remained one of the most dominant responses throughout the first year of infection, the Tat 33–50 response that was immunodominant in primary infection in subject R463F underwent a rapid decline in relative magnitude, consistent with a selective reduction in antigenic stimulation due to viral escape (Fig. 3 and Table 5).
