TET1 and breast carcinoma: These data support previous observations of lower levels of TET mRNA in other types of solid cancers: reduced TET1 expression had been found in the cancerous tissues of breast, prostate and hepatocellular carcinomas (Frycz et al. 2014; Liu et al. 2013; Muller et al. 2012); moreover, all three TET family members were downregulated at the mRNA level in breast cancer and melanoma (Hsu et al. 2012; Lian et al. 2012; Yang et al. 2013).
