Here we show that vemurafenib did not alter MGMT promoter methylation as pre-vemurafenib and post-vemurafenib treated cancers all contained unmethylated promoters, showing that vemurafenib is not active in suppressing the transcriptional expression of MGMT. This was confirmed by IHC; no discernable differences in the MGMT protein levels in pre- and post-treatment tumors were observed. This evidence concerns the gene MGMT and cancer.
