Among the five most frequently amplified HMT genes (frequency>10%) in breast cancers, four were localized on the long arm of chromosome 1, with SETDB1 at 1q21.3, ASH1L at 1q22, SMYD2 at 1q32.3, and SMYD3 at 1q44 (Figure 4). This evidence concerns the gene ASH1L and breast cancer.
