Ornish et al. [83] used a randomized control trial (RCT) design to examine the effect of an entire lifestyle intervention, including low-fat vegan diet supplemented with fish oil and a number of other vitamins and minerals combined with physical activity and stress management techniques, in a group of prostate cancer survivors and examined the effects on the prostate specific antigen (PSA) levels and LNCaP (human prostatic adenocarcinoma) cell growth in vitro.
