To further validate the observation that enhanced SOX2 and/or TP63 protein in cervical samples, from women with high grade pre-neoplastic cervical disease, might relate to tumour progression, we stained a series of parallel sections from cervical biopsies from 11 women with HR-HPV+ve SCCC and 11 women with normal cervical tissue with anti-SOX2 and anti-TP63 antibodies. The gene discussed is SOX2; the disease is cervicitis.
