PTX3 and bacterial infectious disease with sepsis: In patients with bacteremia, the maximum PTX3 values on days 1–4 were markedly higher in nonsurvivors compared to survivors (44.8 versus 6.4 ng/mL, P < 0.001) and the AUC in the prediction of case fatality was 0.82 (cut-off values 15 ng/mL, sensitivity 72%, and specificity 81%) [22].
