Partial Spearman correlation analysis of data from all 305 T2DM patients showed that plasma calprotectin levels were highly correlated with BMI, weight, waist circumference, hip circumference, age (inversely), hs-CRP, fasting plasma insulin, plasma HDL (inversely), HOMA-IR and Summed Stress Score (SSS) (all p < 0.001), while weakly correlated with fasting plasma C-peptide, diabetes duration (inversely), carotid intima media thickness (CIMT) (inversely) and triglycerides (all p < 0.05). The gene discussed is INS; the disease is diabetes mellitus.
