A literature review indicates that hypermethylation of AKAP12 and accompanied under-expression of the gene has been noted in CRC (Liu et al., 2010; Mori et al., 2006) as well as other human cancers (Choi et al., 2004; Flotho et al., 2007; Heller et al., 2008; Jin et al., 2008; Tessema et al., 2008). This evidence concerns the gene AKAP12 and colorectal carcinoma.
