Only the lipid profile (TC, p=0.02; TG, p<0.001, LDL p=0.02, and VLDL, p=0.01),insulin (p<0.001), leukocytes (p=0.003), and segmented neutrophils (p=0.02) wereassociated with excess adiposity; it may be that adolescents with excess weight couldhave a greater chance of having dyslipidemia, hyperinsulinemia, and a more markedinflammatory state (Table 6).
