In multivariate analysis, factors that remained associated with death during TB treatment were TB diagnosis between 2006 and 2009 (aOR: 2.50, 95%CI 1.31–4.78; p = 0.006), the presence of another AIDS-defining disease besides TB (aOR: 2.73, 95%CI 1.27–5.86; p = 0.010), the presence of another non-AIDS defining illness (aOR: 4.04, 95%CI 1.37–8.21; p = 0.008), not receiving CPT (aOR: 3.61, 95%CI 1.71–7.63; p = 0.001), not receiving ART (aOR: 2.45, 95%CI 1.18–5.08; p = 0.016), and having CD4 cell count <50/mm3 (aOR: 16.43, 95%CI 1.05–258.04; p = 0.047). The gene discussed is CD4; the disease is AIDS.
