Baseline plasma leptin (27.6 ± 6.2 vs. 10.9 ± 3.8 ng/mL, p < 0.01) and plasma C3ades/ARG (273 ± 79 vs 198 ± 57 mg/dL, p < 0.05) were higher in the MetS than control group, whereas baseline plasma adiponectin was higher in the control than MetS group (9.9 ± 1.9 vs. 5.4 ± 0.6 g/mL). This evidence concerns the gene LEP and metabolic syndrome.
