The β2-adrenergic receptor (β2-AR) has a key role in angiogenesis (Ciccarelli et al. 2011) and promotion of malignant tumor growth (Thaker et al. 2006; Wong et al. 2007), and β2-AR overexpression is frequently found in biopsies from human glioblastoma and brain tumor-associated vasculature, which is consistent with a role for β2-AR signaling during tumor vascularization (Annabi et al. 2009; Sardi et al. 2013). This evidence concerns the gene ADRB2 and brain neoplasm.
