When compared to Study 1, asthmatics from Study 2 were more likely to have early childhood disease onset (27% vs. 38%), report a family history of allergic disease (76% vs. 92%), the co-occurrence of eczema (32% vs. 38%) and hayfever (55% vs. 77%), and have higher mean log total serum IgE levels (4.4 vs. 4.9, Table1).
