CD4 and celiac disease: Isolating gluten-reactive T cells from celiac disease patients expressing DQ2.2, we demonstrated that distinct gluten epitopes were recognized by CD4+ T cells in DQ2.5 compared to DQ2.2 celiac patients, and the first DQ2.2 restricted epitope, DQ2.2-glut-L1 (9-mer core region: PFSEQEQPV) was identified (Bodd et al. 2012).
