MiR-143 is also downregulated in prostate cancer, and has been shown in vitro to inhibit proliferation and migration of prostate cancer cells by suppressing V-Ki-ras2 Kirsten rat sarcoma viral oncogene homolog (KRAS) expression, thereby inhibiting the EGFR/RAS/mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathway [29].
