In acute myeloid leukemia (AML) increased levels of Pim-1 have been associated with aberrant expression of the mixed-line-age leukemia (MLL) gene [95] as a consequent activation of tyrosine-kinase receptor FLT3 or the transcriptional regulator Hoxa9 [11],[96]-[98]. The gene discussed is KMT2A; the disease is acute myeloid leukemia.
