CD8A and infection: In the salivary glands at day 50 post infection, the viral load is decreased in CD73−/− compared to C57BL/6 by 1 log, therefore CD73 may influence protective immunity in certain sites of infection at certain times but in line with the absence of a major effect on CD8 T-cell responses in the periphery, CD73 does not play a critical role in influencing systemic infection.
