Mace et al. resumed the pharmaceuticals action of imatinib mesylate (GleevecTM; Novartis Pharmaceuticals, Hanover, NJ, USA) as a selective tyrosine kinase inhibitor targeting Bcr-Abl fusion protein in chronic myelogenous leukemia, multiple class 3 receptor tyrosine kinases including PDGFR-α and PDGFR-β, as well as the c-KIT subtype [7]. Here, KIT is linked to chronic myelogenous leukemia, BCR-ABL1 positive.
